Impotence of Progress, an original oil painting by Adam Gabriel Winnie, is now available as a fine art print.
This print dimensions are 15" x 30". It's matted on antique white, acid free, archival matboard and hinge mounted on 3/16" acid free foam core. The final dimensions after matting are 24" x 36". Matting is included free!
The artwork is printed on Fine Art Velvet paper which is 100% cotton and acid free. Canon archival large format ink jet printers are used to print directly onto the Fine Art Velvet paper. Fine art velvet prints are less resistant to scratching and damage than traditional photographic prints and should be handled and displayed with care.
The work comes signed and number in an edition of 50. That means that only 50 of these will ever be printed.
About Impotence of Progress: Despite the seemingly endless march and triumph of industrial, material, political, scientific and technological progress over the course of the century, the effect of progress in general was neither always uniform nor desired. Are we revisiting the Fin De Siècle whose progress found itself as concept and creed, bitterly contested once again?
On the left, a car burns out of control in lawless Somalia. On the right a beautiful scenic beach disguises its place in history as Bikini Atoll, the testing site for U.S. nuclear bombs.
Has society really progressed, or is it simply an illusion?
